Description Aims and Objectives

A society affiliated to MENCAP whose primary object is to secure for the mentally handicapped provision commensurate to their needs, by increasing public knowledge and awareness of problems that they and their families face, and thus create a climate of sympathetic public opinion as a prerequisite of their acceptance into the community.

Organisation and Management

Gernsey Mencap LBG is a company "Limited by Guarantee" which was formed from Guernsey Society for People with Learning Disabilities (Guernsey Mencap) at the start of 2010. The company comprises of members who pledge a guarantee and is run by a board of directors.

Finance

Mainly by fund-raising events. A grant from the States of Guernsey is received for Grow Limited. An affiliation fee is paid to the Royal Society, and the remaining funds are used in Guernsey.
